2 killed, 2 hurt as speeding car hits divider on Pune - Mumbai expressway

Pune: In a tragic accident, two persons lost their lives and two others sustained serious injuries when their speeding car went out of control and hit the road divider near the Kamshet tunnel at KM-71 on the Pune-Mumbai expressway around 8 pm on Saturday.
The ill-fated car bearing registration number (MH-01-AR - 1350) was on its way to Pune from Mumbai.
According to the highway traffic police, the driver of the four-wheeler was plying the vehicle at a high speed due to which he lost control and dashed against the divider.
The impact was such that two occupants of the car who were seated in the rear were thrown out of the car and run over by an approaching vehicle.
Soon after the accident, the highway police rushed to the spot and took the injured to a nearby hospital where two persons were declared dead. Two other occupants who were seated in the front are undergoing medical treatment.
The highway police are yet to get the details of the victims and the injured.
