Describing Raj Thackeray as a man with double standards, deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar on Tuesday said that the MNS chief should first give an account of development in Nashik instead of claiming to have a blue print of the state’s well being.

The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) is in power in Nashik.

Pawar was speaking to media persons in Satara where he attended a programme to celebrate Shiv Jayanti at Shivneri Fort, the birth place of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He said that Thackeray should know that mimicry cannot provide relief from drought. He should also change his flawed misconception that inflammatory public speeches can shape public opinion, Pawar said.

The deputy chief minister said, “On one hand, he speaks about building memorials and on the other, he demands funding of crores for Mahalaxmi temple. He should stop these double standards.”

Pawar also said that there was a shortfall of 2,700-2,800 MW of electricity in the state. He said that the on priority basis, domestic users would be provided gas for cooking purpose. After this, gas will supplied for manufacturing fertilisers. Finally, the rest will used for power generation. Pawar said that the non-availability of gas has affected Dabhol power plant severely. Also, Parali power plant has been shut down, he added.
