Protesting against the gang rape in New Delhi, the Pimpri-Chinchwad unit of Shiv Sena’s Mahila Aghadi distributed chilli powder packets to women commuters of PMPML buses at Nigdi bus stop on Tuesday.
The party members asked the women to carry the chilli powder in their purse for self-protection.
Sena corporators Seema Savale and Aasha Shedge along with party workers Gauri Ghante, Anuradha Kulkarni and Vijaya Chavan distrrbuted the packets..
Addressing the women commuters, the Sena corporators said, “The Congress government has failed to ensure the safety of women. Safety of women in public places is doubtful and in such a situation, women should carry chilli powder in their purses along with lipsticks for their own safety.”
