While Narendra Modi attended the first day of Bharatiya Janata Party’s national executive meet in Mumbai on Thursday, former BJP leaders in Vadodara wrote postcards to the party’s national president Nitin Gadkari voicing their dissent against the CM.

Former workers of Jan Sangh and the saffron party participated in the postcard writing campaign organised at the Mahatma Gandhi Nagargruh in Vadodara.

Former minister in the BJP government and head of Din Dayal Seva Sangharsh Samiti Nalin Bhatt along with other local leaders had written letters to Gadkari and veteran BJP leader LK Advani. The message on the poster was clear: ‘Listen Leaders...Voice of Gujarat; If Modi is protected, BJP will be defeated’.

Bhatt also demanded that a national-level BJP team be sent to study the ground-level situation in the state unit of the party. He has also said that the BJP in Gujarat, which was known as the laboratory of Hindutva, is slowly becoming like Congress, adding that it was supporting minority appeasement.

Organisers claim that as many as 60 people came forward to write postcards to Gadkari.
