13-year-old abducted from Surat, raped

In yet another crime against women in the diamond city, a 13-year-old from Surat was abducted and raped by her ‘lover’ in Vadodara.

The incident surfaced on Tuesday after the girl confided in her parents, who then lodged a complaint with police in the matter. The accused has been reported absconding.

In a complaint registered with Mahidharpura police station, Nimisha (name changed) stated that she was abducted by Sagar Devipujak (25) two days back. He promised her of marriage if she accompanied him to Vadodara. Devipujak is a resident of Katargam Jakatnaka in Surat.

Devipujak and Nimisha stayed in a hotel at  Vadodara for one night, where he allegedly offered her a soft drink laced with sedatives.

“Nimisha lost her consciousness after having the soft drink. Devipujak took advantage of this situation and raped her twice,” said RP Patel, PSI with Mahidharpura police station.
Nimisha, after her return to Surat, narrated the entire incident to her parents who immediately contacted Mahidharpura police and registered complaint against Devipujak.

Cops have initiated search for the accused who has been reported missing since the incident surfaced.
