LJP chief Ramvilas Paswan today demanded that Bihar government implement the report of Sachchar Committee in the state along the lines of West Bengal.

"There is an urgent need for implementing the Ranganath Mishra Commission's recommendations for the uplift of Muslims in the country. The state government must implement the report of the Sacchar committee in Bihar for providing reservation for Muslims in jobs like in West Bengal," he told a seminar organised by a private channel ETV (Urdu).

Paswan said the Centre should allocate funds for welfare projects for dalits, backwards and Muslims proportionate to their population.

Referring to alleged police atrocities on Muslims in Kashmir, Paswan demanded an immediate end to it as the country's progress would not be possible without creating an atmosphere of confidence among them.

He said the dalits and Muslims should launch a front to fight for their fundamental rights.
