NEW DELHI, July 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

New India Assurance Co Ltd presented a dividend cheque of Rs. 170 Crore to the Union Government in New Delhi recently.

CMD, New India Assurance Co Ltd, Shri G. Srinivasan presented the cheque to Hon'ble Shri P. Chidambaram, Union Finance Minister, in the presence of Shri Namo Narayan Meena, Union Minister of State for Finance and Shri Rajiv Takru Secretary, Department of Financial Services on 2nd July 2013.

Mr. A R Sekar & K. Sanath Kumar, Directors & General Managers and Mr. J K Garg, DGM, ROI, Delhi were present on the occasion.

New India Assurance, the market leader in non-life Insurance in India, did a global premium of Rs 12,500 Cr and recorded a PAT of Rs 844 Cr in 2012-13

The company expanded its operations, by deepening its presence in unrepresented & new potential business places through its micro offices. The insurer opened 383 new such offices to take the total number to 555. In the current fiscal year the company has plans to open 500 more such offices across the country.
