MYSORE, India, May 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

The High Speed Rail Symposium 2013 is going to be held at Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), Mysore on May 9th and 10th, which is organized by Transportation Research Group of India (TRG) in association with Fundacion Caminos De Hierro - Spain, SJCE - Mysore, TEQIP - Government of Karnataka and Conferences and Incentives Management Pvt Ltd.

With a rapidly growing world population and the pressure being put on the transportation sector in both urban and rural communities, there are several nations adopting alternative public transportation policies to better serve their citizens.

Whether for short or long distance travel, existing transportation sectors are in desperate need of upgrades and are producing more traffic congestion, and contributing to increased pollution. Therefore, the pursuit of alternative transportation, particularly to aim sustainable transportation has come in the form of high-speed rail, particularly for regional and long distance travel.
