These four SBI services will end in three days, here is what you can do to avoid inconvenience

In its attempt to make customers' experience better, State Bank of India (SBI) is making some changes in its services. While it may give customers some hard time immediately, it will improve SBI's banking facilities in the near future. The largest lender of the country is also shutting down some of its services. However, the bank already has its replacement ready for its customers. 

Here are some of the steps you need to take to avoid inconvenience: 

Want to use internet banking after Nov 30? Here is what you need to do: 

The bank will disable your internet banking if you do not link your mobile number before November 30. SBI had announced in October that customers who wish to use internet banking need to have their mobile number with their bank account, failing which the services will be blocked from December 1, 2018. 

"Attention INB users, please register your mobile number with us immediately, if not already done, through Branch, failing which the Internet Banking facility may be blocked with effect from 01.12.2018," SBI says on its official website. 

While most of the account holders have linked their mobile number with the bank account, there are still some who have not done so. You need to visit your nearest SBI branch to link your mobile number with the bank account. 

Buddy app to shut down

SBI will shut down its mobile wallet app, SBI Buddy, on November 30, 2018, according to an announcement on the banking major's website - sbi.co.in. The SBI Buddy app was launched in August 2015 to enable customers to send money, view bank statements, recharge mobile phones and set-top boxes, book movie tickets and shop online, among other features.

However, SBI's alternative - YONO app - will continue to provide services to its customers. SBI's YONO app is a one-stop shop to fulfil all banking, insurance, investments, and daily shopping needs.

Pension loan offer for govt employees ends

On Diwali, SBI had introduced a loan offer for government employees having pension account with it. SBI waived processing fee for central, state and defence pensioners who are not older than 76 years and drew their pension from India's banking giant. The offer is valid only till November 30, 2018. 

Hassle-free Life Certificate submission

Customers who have pension account with SBI were asked to submit their Life Certificate by November 30, 2018. The Life Certificate needs to submitted to complete the process to continue receiving their monthly pension amount. 

The bank has also given an option using which they can submit the same digitally, without visiting the bank. 

"The Jeevan Pramaan initiative makes life simpler for pensioners. In just a few clicks, you can submit your Aadhaar based Digital Life Certificate! Enjoy your retirement with Jeevan Pramaan! The Aadhaar based Digital Life Certificate gives pensioners the comfortable option of digital submission," SBI said in a series of tweets recently. 

Replace megastrip debit card

SBI has informed its customers that they need to upgrade their existing megastrip debit card to newer EMV (Europay, MasterCard and Visa) chip ones as they offer enhanced security. They can to do it before December 31 at any SBI branch without any extra cost. 

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had set a December 31 deadline for commercial banks to migrate from magnetic stripe-based cards to EMV chip-and-pin cards.
