If you are an SBI customer, do these two things before March 31

If you apply before March 31, then you would be getting a complete 100% waiver on home loan processing fees.

If you are a customer of the State Bank of India or any of its subsidaries which now had been merged with the largest public lender, then you have just one day to finish two important tasks that would be give you relief and long term benefit. 

The country's largest public lender has took to its twitter account requesting the customers of the associate banks and Bhartiya Mahila Bank that they should apply for the new cheque books as the current ones would be invalid after March 31. 

SBI has tweeted, "All customers of erstwhile Associate Banks (e-AB) and Bharatiya Mahila Bank are requested to apply for SBI cheque books by 31st March 2018, to avoid any inconvenience. The old e-AB / BMB cheque books will not be valid post 31.03.2018."

The list of associate whose cheque books would be invalid includes Bharatiya Mahila Bank, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, The State Bank of Hyderabad, and the State Bank of Mysore, the State Bank of Patiala, and the State Bank of Travancore. 

Customers of the above mentioned banks can exchange their cheque books at their nearest SBI branch.

Another thing which holds equal importance is that if you have taken a home loan from SBI, then March 31 is the last date to get any processing fees waived. 

If you apply before March 31, then you would be getting a complete 100% waiver on home loan processing fees. 

"Browse from our range of Home Loan products or calculate the savings of switching your existing Home Loan to SBI. Apply online before 31st March and get a 100% waiver on processing fees," SBI said.

"SBI Home Loans is the largest Mortgage Lender in India, which has helped over 30 lakh families to achieve the dream of owning a home," said SBI on its website, homeloans.sbi.

Earlier, the State Bank of India (SBI) announced a substantial reduction of charges for non-maintenance of Average Monthly Balance (AMB) in savings accounts, effective April 1.

The charges for non-maintenance of AMB for customers in metro and urban centers have been reduced from a maximum of Rs. 50 to Rs.15 per month, excluding Goods and Services Tax (GST). Similarly, for semi-urban and rural centers, the charges have been reduced from Rs. 40 to Rs. 12 and Rs. 10 per month respectively, excluding GST.
