I have a mediclaim policy from a private health insurance company taken through a public sector bank. At that time I had told my agent that I got convulsion (fits) in 1988 and had taken medicines. Now I don't have the problem. He told me it was not a problem and did not mention it in my Proposal Form at the time of taking policy. He assured me that after one month the policy will commence. Last month, that is, December 2018, I got operated for hernia and menorrhea (Vaginal Bleeding) and I incurred hospital expenses amounting Rs 1,35,000. When I applied for reimbursement it was rejected simply saying "In medical history details of convulsions not mentioned". Due to agent's negligence I am facing a huge loss. Is there anything to do with convulsions in case of the operation mentioned? How do I get my money back?

You can approach the Grievance Redressal Officer of the Insurance Company and log a complaint as past history of convulsions will not cause Hernia or Menorrhagia. Also, one has to ensure to check all details are filled in yourself in the proposal form correctly and not by any agent, so that there is transparency in the proposal.
