Aadhaar update: What is mAadhaar profile and how it is created - Know here

Lately, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has been launching several online and mobile services to bring ease to users. One of the biggest things that they have launched is the mAddhaar App. The mAadhaar besides being a valid proof of identity can be used in several important places in the country. It also offers over 35 Aadhaar services on your smartphone.

How is mAadhaar different from an Aadhaar card in a wallet? 

The mAadhaar app can be conveniently used anywhere in India. The mAadhaar profile is widely accepted as a proof ID at Airports and Railway stations. It also helps you share your eKYC details and QR code with service providers who seek Aadhaar verification. It all happens from your phone which doesn't require carrying the Aadhaar card physically everywhere. 

Everyone can create a mAadhaar profile on the app

Any person whose Aadhaar card is linked with his/her registered mobile number can create an Aadhaar profile on the app. Such individuals can register their profile in an App installed on any smartphone. However, the OTP will be sent to only their registered mobile. These steps should be followed to register Aadhaar profile on mAadhaar:

- Launch the mAadhaar app from the Google Play store. 

- Tap on the Register Aadhaar tab on the top of the main dashboard

- Create a 4 digit Pin/Password(memorize this password, as it will be required to access the profile)

- Provide Valid Aadhaar & enter valid Captcha

- Enter Valid OTP and submit

- The profile should get registered

- The registered tab would now display the registered Aadhaar Name

- Tap on the 'My Aadhaar' tab on the bottom menu

- Enter 4-digit Pin/Password

- 'My Aadhaar' Dashboard appears
