There are literally thousands of sites catering to the insatiable appetite for Palinisms. One enterprising soul has even registered a website www.palinisms.com. And as the lady goes on publicity drive, giving interviews here and there, the list of Palinisms grows. In one of them, describing the stupendous response she got from ordinary Americans after her name was announced, she said, “But not me personally were those cheers for,” thus adding another immortal gem to the collection.

As the financial meltdown hits every sector of the global economy, one group of people is having to work harder to earn a living. The email scamsters, who send out mailers soliciting funds by promising millions to eager people, are increasing their efforts and bringing in newer techniques. It is no longer about deposed African despots wanting to park their ill-gotten funds. A new message, for example comes from “Lady Rebecca Thatcher” widow of “Sir Jeremy Thatcher” who deposited a sum of £20 million which she, now suffering from cancer wants to donate to the receiver. Another comes from a Libyan woman who also is suffering from cancer and has a few months to live. One recipient of such mailers says he has been inundated by dying widows appealing to him to take the money ever since the economy started faltering.
