Finance Ministry invites suggestions for Union Budget 2017-18
The government has set December 15, 2016 as the deadline to submit suggestions for the upcoming Union Budget.

As an effort to encourage "jan bhagidari" (public participation) and make the budget formation procedure more transparent, the government on Tuesday, announced its decision to invite suggestions for the Union Budget 2017-18.
"Last year we had an overwhelming response with over 40,000 suggestions for Union/ Railway budget. Citizen from all walks of life are welcome to be a part of the budget making process," stated the government on its website.
The government has set December 15, 2016 as the deadline to submit suggestions either through writing directly in the comments box or uploading a PDF document on its aforementioned website. The announcement garnered attention of citizens and they have voiced their concerns and sent suggestions on issues ranging from demonetization, public transportation, sustainable energy, defence and taxation limits.
