Can’t find the hall ticket? Don’t panic

With only a few days to go before the SSC exams and with the HSC exams presently underway, board helplines are flooded with calls from students who have lost their hall tickets.

Nearly 10 to 12 students call the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education helpline number daily to report loss of their SSC and HSC hall tickets.

“Students are becoming very careless. Many SSC students have lost their hall tickets. Some are genuine cases, while others are only panic calls from those who have misplaced the ticket somewhere,” said a member of the board helpline team.

Ravindra Bhise, divisional secretary of the board in Mumbai, advises parents not to panic in such situations. “We ask them to obtain an application attesting the loss of ticket stamped and signed by college authorities. When the duly signed application is produced at the board office, and a sum of Rs50 paid, we issue a fresh hall ticket to the student,” he said. The board helpline is open from 9am to 7pm on all days except Sundays and public holiday.

Bhise added that this year, students have been advised on issues like losing hall tickets or reaching the exam centre late. They’ve also been asked to carry a photocopy of their hall ticket.

Prashant Dhamle, an HSC student of Sant Gadge Maharaj College, Fort said, “I am even keeping a colour photocopy of my hall ticket at home. In case of an emergency, I can ask my parents to bring it to the centre.”
