Juhu Beach, 6am
With increasing cases of thefts and chain-snatching in the area, residents of Juhu refrain from wearing expensive jewellery while venturing out for their morning walk. Sangita Jain, a regular at Juhu Beach, said, “Earlier I used to put on my jewellery while coming for a jog. However, now I take off my rings and gold chain before I leave home.”
“In the past six months, the police have made a lot of effort to raise awareness about and make residents alert. The police patrol van takes regular rounds of the beach in the morning,” said, Jain. Police presence has increased in the area after the Kalachowkie incident.
