Hand of Death
This picture of a man digging out the body of a landslide victim at Dasgaon village, Raigad, was the front page picture of DNA’s first edition on July 30, 2005. Torrential rains triggered a landslide at Dasgaon on July 25, 2005, which claimed 45 lives. The army had to be deployed in the neighbouring Jui village, where 100 people were feared trapped in a landslip.
