Murder of MV Kuber’s captain
“Ismail said: ‘Seth, kya haal hai? Char bakre tumne kha liye. Aik patta jo hamara hai, main use kha loon?’ (What’s the situation? You killed four men. Shall I kill the one we have?”

“Solanki, I think, realised he would be killed."

“Abu Sohail then started an argument saying he wanted to kill the navigator. Ismail and Sohail then took Solanki to the engine room. Ismail took a rope from me. I later saw Umer holding a rope in his hand and Sohail holding a knife. The knife was stained with blood. The knife was then thrown into the sea.

“Ismail then started assembling the inflatable dinghy. Ismail directed us to take bath and change clothes. The sun had set by then.

The men and the arms
“We filled 10 bags and shifted them to the inflatable boat. The bomb produced in court was also shifted. Each bag had an Ak-47 rifle, a pistol, eight hand grenades, and three sets of magazines. Abu Ali and Abdul Rehman Bada took a bag with loose AK-47 cartridges. One Nokia mobile handset was given to each group. There were three big grenades, two small, three black handgrenades (china-made).

Entry into Mumbai
“Once we sat down, the rope holding the inflatable dinghy was cut. When we reached near the shore, the GPS was broken and thrown into the water. There were five GPS sets in all. However, I left one in the boat.

“We reached the shore.” (He consulted his lawyer and said the place was Budhwar park)... We got into a taxi after some time. Hamza had told us to keep a bomb in the taxi. I sat on the front seat, while Ismail sat at the back. I kept my bag, containing a bomb, on the rear seat. Ismail also had a bomb.

Joining the Mujahideens
“Last year, during Bakr-Id, I was working as a decorator in Jhelum. But I was not happy with the paltry amount I was being paid. My friend, Muzaffar, suggested that for more money, we should take to robbery and dacoity. I quit the decorator’s job and went to Rawalpindi with Muzaffar.

“We took a room on rent. We decided to burgle a bungalow. Muzaffar told me his friend knows details about its owner. When he went to the friend’s village to gather more information, I wandered in the Rawalpindi’s Raza market. I saw some Mujahideens — men with long beard, long hair — buying animal skin. Since childhood, I had heard of these Mujahideens and I recognised them from their appearance.

“After a few days, Muzaffar returned, and we visited the same market. We discussed our plans to burgle the bungalow. I repeatedly asked him from where we would get the weapons and how we would pull this off? He assured me that we would get the weapons and that we would also learn to use them. I told him that I had seen Mujahideens at the market and that we could get weapons training from them. He agreed.
