Pune-based information technology company Great Software Laboratory (GS Lab) will launch an innovative mobile conferencing tool, called K-Talk, soon. The company has applied for an approval from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) to launch the service.

"It is an audio conferencing system which can be monitored and carried out with a mobile phone thereby making the process hassle free," said Atul Narkhede, vice-president (engineering) at GS Lab.

"With K-Talk, all one has to do is schedule a conference and send a text or email reminder to the target group. The system will then automatically connect all selected users at that particular time and the conference can be carried out," he said. "In fact, one can carry out multiple conference calls at the same time using this solution," Narkhede said.

On Monday, the company launched kPoint -- an Internet-based solution -- that presents instructionally-designed lessons in interactive on-line classrooms hosted by its servers.
kPoint automatically produces multi-media archives for self-paced learning. It is offered as a hosted service designed to enable teachers and trainers to prepare for class, present it face-to-face online, and publish it for reuse.

"The kPoint feature set enables corporate users to train employees faster while reducing costs. It helps academic institutions and training houses set up their networks for scalable, high quality learning environments," said Shridhar Shukla, managing director of GS Lab.
