Yavtmal Hostel warden booked for inmate's suicide

Police have registered a case against warden of a Tribal Girl's Hostel here in connection with the alleged suicide of an inmate.

The accused has been identified as Sunita Khadse, warden of Yavatmal Govt Tribal Girls Hostel.

As per the complainant Gunvant Madavi, his daughter Pratibha allegedly committed suicide due to the reported torture and harassment by the warden.

The 19-year-old D-Ed student Pratibha, he said, in her suicide last Tuesday noted blamed the warden for she ending life.

Dhamangaon police have registered a case and are investigating further. However, no arrests have been made so far.

Meanwhile, Pandharkawda-based Tribal Development Project Office, who is running the hostel, said the warden has been placed suspension and a departmental inquiry was ordered into the circumstances that led Pratibha's suicide.
