Mumbai: Local trains were delayed by upto 45 minutes on Central Railways today due to an overhead wire snapping at Mulund railway station, railway officials said.

Trains were running upto 45 minutes behind schedule and services were delayed due to wire snapping at platform number 1 and 2 of Mulund railway station. Services in north bound direction have been restored on the slow track, but work is still on repair the other wire, they said.

The traffic had to be re-routed on fast track due to which services were delayed, they said.

The incident took place around 5.45 am. The delay caused inconvenience to the morning commuters, as most of them reached late to their workplaces.
