Maharashtra BJP president Sudhir Mungantiwar today said he would strive to strengthen the party in the state.

"Our agenda is 'Garibon Ke Sanman Me, BJP Maidan Me'," he said.

The Ballarpur MLA said as state party chief, he would develop his party and work for the uplift of poor. He said he will work in a planned manner to strengthen party's membership.

He said he will start a contact drive from May 1 during which he will visit the 7 divisional headquarters of his party followed by a second contact drive in June where he will visit all the 33 district headquarters.

He will also visit all the tehsil places across the state in July and August.

On separate Vidarbha and maintaining ties with Shiv Sena, Mungatiwar said that both are separate issues.

"Our policy on demand for a separate Vidarbha at national level is clear. We were always in favour of creation of smaller states, as it expedites development and provides better administration."

"Our ties with Shiv Sena are based on several important national and regional issues and their stand on unified Maharashtra is not going to hamper the relations between two parties," said Mungantiwar.

On Naxalim he said the meance should be dealt with an iron hand.
