Water woes: Pune civic body opens grievance redressal cell

Citizens can file complaints about problems like water supply being cut off or at low pressure, leakage from pipeline or valves, supply of contaminated water, misuse of water and unauthorised water connection.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has started a grievance redressal system for water problems in the city. According to a statement by the civic body, citizens can file complaints on toll free number: (020) 66344203 or they can submit their complaints on the webpage http://www.punecorporation.org/GRS/Complaint/LaunchComplaintCitizen.aspx.

Once the complaint is registered, an SMS would be instantly sent to the engineer concerned.

Citizens can file complaints about problems like water supply being cut off or at low pressure, leakage from pipeline or valves, supply of contaminated water, misuse of water and unauthorised water connection.

The water supply department of the civic body has set up a well-prepared system to resolve water supply problems at Swargate Water Works, Sawarkar Bhavan, Cantonment Water Works, Bund Garden, Karve Road (next to railway booking centre), Aryabhushan and Fergusson College Road.

After the complaint is registered by a citizen, an engineer would be informed about it. Once the problem is solved, the citizen would be sent a compliance report by the civic body. Citizens should provide address, ward number and mobile number while registering the complaint.

The civic body has said that citizens can track the progress report
about their complaint on the website of the civic body by using the complaint number.
