The water supply to Kopri, the region in which the girder of Kopri Bridge fell, is likely to be restored by Sunday morning.
Officials from the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) stated that work on restoration of the water supply at Kopri was being carried out diligently. “By Saturday night, we will ensure that all the work related to the water supply at Kopri is completed,” informed Vikas Dhole, from TMC’s water department.
Sandeep Malvi, PRO of TMC, said, “The TMC supplied water to Kopri using tankers. About 225 water tankers were sent to the area on Saturday. This will continue till the water supply is restored.”
More than 100 staff members of TMC began the work of laying water pipelines and connections on Saturday morning. “On our request, the BMC allowed us to seek a new connection from Anand Nagar in Thane east. With this connection, we have been able supply the usual quantity of water to the region,” added Dhole.
