Eminent Marathi writer Vasundhara Patwardhan passed away due to old age in Pune today, family sources said.
She was 94-years-old when she passed away in the early hours of the morning.
Patwardhan had written many short stories, essays and radio plays and was a recipient of several state awards.
Although the veteran was formally educated only up to vernacular final level, a number of literature enthusiasts went on to write their Phd theses on her Marathi oeuvre.
