A fast track court today adjourned the trial against actor Shiney Ahuja, accused of raping his maid, till November 30. The ruling came after the prosecution sought time to clarify an order passed by the Bombay High Court staying the framing of charges.

The high court had on October 6 stayed the framing of charges against Shiney, 36, after defence lawyer Shrikant Shivade approached the court seeking copies of the forensic and medical reports of the victim and the actor.

Additional sessions judge SR Trivedi had on the last hearing sought clarification from the defence and prosecution after observing that the high court order said that the framing of charges should be stayed only for a week.

Shivade today submitted a copy of the HC order but the prosecution sought time to file its reply. Shivade had sought copies of the reports stating the DNA samples of the victim do not match with that of the actor.

Police had on August 13 filed a 109-page charge sheet against the actor accusing him of rape, wrongful confinement and intimidation. The charge sheet consisted of medical reports which indicated Shiney had sexual intercourse with his maid.

Shiney was arrested on June 15 after his maid lodged a complaint with suburban Oshiwara police station that the actor had raped her at his residence.
