The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), it appears, will be entrusted with the execution of the Sewri-Nhava Mumbai Trans Harbour Link.

Sources in the authority have hinted that the MMRDA has proposed to take the link from Sewri to Shirle village in Nhava right up to the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, adding 28 km to the original 22-km project.

Confirming the development, a top MMRDA official said the authority would be the sole agency owning and executing the project. “The government resolution is expected once the chief minister is briefed about the development this week. The Centre is likely to share some of the funds,” the official indicated.
