Traffic chaos has become a part of life for commuters on the Bhosari-Telco Road due to a combination of factors, including parking of industrial vehicles, poor traffic management and bad road conditions.

Many industrial and residential areas are located along the road, including HDFC Colony, Shahunagar and Sambhajinagar.
Residents, traders at Thermax Chowk and commuters have been facing the problem of parking of heavy vehicles on the main road for several years.

According to them, there is no provision for parking of industrial vehicles on this stretch.

“As the Maharashtra industrial development corporation (MIDC) has not made any ample parking provision for industrial vehicles, commuters have to suffer,” said a resident, who refused to give his name.

Citizens claimed that many anti-social elements carry out nefarious activities behind these parked vehicles at night and the stretch has become a hot spot for flesh trade.

Constant traffic snarls are also reported on this stretch due to bad road conditions from Durganagar Chowk to Thermax Chowk on the Telco-Bhosari route. The authorities’ failure to maintain the road in good condition has led to many accidents at Durganagar Chowk.

Traffic inspector AN Thorat told DNA, “The traffic department has taken action against heavy vehicle owners causing public nuisance on Telco Road. We will inspect the spot and take preventive measure again, if necessary.”
