Toddler smothered to death over non-payment of dues by father

The incident took place yesterday after Chandrashekhar Shriram Atram, 28, demanded the payment of dues amounting to Rs5,000 from his friend Ganesh Ramnivas Choudhary, 30, who taken loan from him.

A two-year-old toddler was allegedly abducted and later smothered to death in Gittikhadan in Nagpur over the non-payment of a private loan taken by his father, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday after Chandrashekhar Shriram Atram, 28, demanded the payment of dues amounting to Rs5,000 from his friend Ganesh Ramnivas Choudhary, 30, who taken loan from him, they said.

When Atram failed get back his money, he allegedly kidnapped Choudhary's son Golu and suffocated him to death, stuffing cloth into his mouth, police said.

Atram later threw the kid under a bridge on Nagpur-Katol road, they said.

Police has arrested Atram and a case has been registered.
