Three more swine flu deaths in Pune; toll mounts to 118

Pune: With the death of three more persons in the last two days, the swine flu toll in the city has risen to 118, health officials said today.

The victims -- two women and a two-year-old boy -- succumbed to H1N1 infection in different hospitals of the city, the officials said, adding that as many as 20 fresh cases of the flu have been reported.

Six patients undergoing treatment were also reported to be in a critical condition, hospital sources said.

Meanwhile, a centre, being run for children of the Pune University employees, had to be closed following scare in the campus after a child contracted the infection.

Two university departments near the centre were also closed till further notice.
