Three injured seriously in hit-and-runs in Nigdi and Chinchwad

An unidentified person driving a Tata Sumo (MH12 P6330) hit three persons, including two pedestrians, in Nigdi and Chinchwad area on Sunday evening.

The injured persons have been identified as Tanaji Suryaji Suryawanshi, Somnath Manik Suryawanshi and Popat Sahebrao Adhav, all admitted to a private hospital in serious condition.
The vehicle first hit Tanaji, a pedestrian, in front of Bhakti-Shakti garden. The driver then panicked and started driving at high speed.

At Balajinagar, the driver knocked down another pedestrian, Somnath, and while speeding away, the car hit a Tempo in the same locality. The driver of the tempo, Adhav, sustained serious injuries.

The driver of the Tata Sumo then fled the spot, deserting his vehicle. The police said the unidentified man was driving the vehicle at high speed.
