The Ratan Tata-owned Taj Mahal Hotel, ravaged by terrorists last November, played a host to former US president George Bush when he was on a visit to the city.

Bush was on a private visit to the metropolis on Saturday after attending a function in New Delhi, spent a few hours in the city.

During his visit, Bush met with the general manager of the hotel, Karambir Kang, who lost his wife and two children in the terrorists attack last November.

While the hotel was tight-lipped about his visit declining to provide details about his stay or who he met with, it is understood that he also met with some staffers of the hotel.

The former US president also met with some India Inc biggies including a few top industrialists and bank chiefs.

While no details about the meet are known, it is understood that he discussed Indo-US trade relations with them.

Bush is the second high profile US politician to stay at the sea-facing hotel after US secretary of state Hillary Clinton visited the city a few months back.
