Thane district Shiv Sena chief and MLA Eknath Shinde inaugurated the subway, which has all the most modern facilities, at a function last night.

The first subway of Thane city, constructed at a cost of Rs4.5 crore, and with as many as eight outlets has been thrown open to public.
Thane district Shiv Sena chief and MLA Eknath Shinde inaugurated the subway, which has all the most modern facilities, at a function last night.
The 220 metres long subway connects at least seven civic wards in the city and will ease pedestrians crossing the highway.
Besides, bhoomi poojan for construction of a bridge above the railway tracks to link Thane West with the eastern side was also conducted.
The bridge is to cost Rs4.5 crore and work on it is likely to be completed within the next four months, officials said.
