Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on Friday countering blames after Wednesday's serial blasts in Mumbai said the government has to ensure safety, regardless of who is in power.

He also said that he favoured decongesting diamonds market.

Chavan also admitted that there was a problem in police tranfers and postings adding that red tape was delaying purchase of crucial security equipments.

He claimed that things are much better than during 26/11 and that people should not speculate anything on the investigation of the current case, mentioning that they were analysing the CCTV footage of the blast sites.

On the repeated incidents of Mumbai being target to terrorist attacks, he said that public anger against the government is justified, adding that the terrorist always strike where it hurts the most.

He also added that complete breakdown of communication in the first 15 minutes after the blast became a cause of worry, admiting that he was cut-off from the police force due to this reason.
