Teenager who threw child off running train in cop custody

Chhotu Mondal was first admitted to Rukhmini Hospital at Kalyan and then shifted to JJ Hospital.

The 19-year-old, who threw a four-year-old girl from a running Bhusaval train near Vidhyavihar railway station, has been discharged by the JJ Hospital on Friday and has been arrested by the Kurla railway police.

Senior inspector Dilip Gore of Kurla railway police station said, “The accused Chhotu Mondal was produced before the CST railway court on Friday and was remanded to police custody till December 13.”

He added that investigation in the case is still going on.

Chhotu Mondal was booked for attempt to murder and maliciously, hurting and attempting to hurt person travelling by railway for throwing the child out of a running train. He was later beaten up by passengers and was handed over to the police.

Mondal was first admitted to Rukhmini Hospital at Kalyan and then shifted to JJ Hospital.
After being discharged he was immediately arrested by the railway police.
