According to Wagh, Anna was suffering from cold, cough and fever throughout his Mumbai fast and was unwell even when he reached Ralegan Siddhi on the afternoon of December 29.

“He has been confined to his room at the Yadavbaba mandir and has not been venturing out of the room. Dr KH Sancheti examined him at 6 pm on Saturday and has advised Anna to get admitted to the Sancheti Hospital on Sunday morning. Anna is expected to leave for the hospital at 9 am.’’

In Pune, chairman, Sancheti Hospital, Dr Parag Sancheti confirmed that Hazare would be admitted to the hospital on Sunday for treatment after developing chest infection.

“We are not exactly sure of the extent of his illness, though I am sure he isn’t very serious. However I can comment over his present state only after his health is evaluated at the hospital and tests are performed,’’ Dr Parag Sancheti said.
