Suspicious object in BEST bus triggers panic in Mumbai

A suspicious-looking object found on a BEST bus caused panic among commuters near Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) in South Mumbai today.

The object, later found to be a small piece of machinery, was found on the rear seat of the bus, running on route No 130, which had reached CST from Walkeshwar.

The bus was evacuated and the area cordoned off to enable the Bomb Disposal and Detection Squad (BDDS) to conduct a searche.

The BDDS later said no explosives were recovered from the bus.
