Three days after the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) students received their mark sheets from their schools, 1,32,015 students have submitted their option forms for junior college admissions, while 1,70,264 have got their application forms approved.
The website opened on May 16, but students were able to submit their option forms only after June 22.

“Students were seeking application forms, but not many were submitting option forms. But, this week, we saw a phenomenal rise in the number of students submitting their option forms,” said a senior official from the education department.

But, the number is still half of last year’s figures, said officials from the education department. “ This year, we have extended the admission process to 23 days. So, students are taking their time in filling the option forms,” an official said.

Students have to choose a minimum of 15 colleges from the MMR region, 15 others from their zone and five colleges from their ward. The colleges selected in the MMR region are given first preference during the admission process.

“Every college has a different code for different courses and medium of instructions. If we make a mistake, we might get stuck in the wrong college,” said Aarti Mhatre, who scored 69.27% in her SSC exams.

Students can fill options form until July 7. The first merit list for bifocals will be out on July 12 at 5pm.
