Unable to cope with the pressure of the ongoing Secondary School Certificate (SSC) board examination, 15-year-old Suvendu Chatterjee committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Bhayander (East) on Saturday night.
Navghar police said that Suvendu lived in Chandralol Apartments in Bhayander along with his parents. The incident took place on Saturday night, while the boy was alone at home. He was discovered by his parents when they returned home late in the night.
Suvendu had already appeared for some of the exam papers but was finding it difficult to concentrate on his studies. Unable to cope with the building pressure, he decided to kill himself, said the police. A case of accidental death has been registered and assistant police inspector Shirish Jadhav is conducting further investigation into the matter.
On February 29, Deepali Paradkar, an SSC student from Nalasopara, had also succumbed to pressure and committed suicide.
