Even though the SSC results are going to be declared today, the first merit list for general category will not be out until July 22. After the declaration of results, students will have to wait for the FYJC online admission process to begin.

Though students can start filling their online application forms from June 22, they will be able to submit their forms only after they receive their mark sheets on June 27 and colleges surrender their minority seats.

Though the education department was hoping to kick off the FYJC admission process immediately after the SSC results, the online admission process can only begin after the students receive their mark sheets.

Junior colleges have been requested to surrender their minority in-house quota of vacant seats online till July 8, by 11am.

“The board should have arranged for the mark sheets to be given to students early so that our admission process could get an early start. Now, even though students can fill in their application or preference forms, they will not be able to submit them until first week of July,” said a senior education official.

Once the results are out, students can fill their forms online from June 22 to July 7. As usual the government will declare the merit list for bifocal courses on July 12, and three days will be reserved for payment of fees and other admission formalities.

Second list for bifocals will be declared on July 18. And the first general merit list for arts, science and commerce stream will be out on July 22. The third and final merit list will be out only August 8 and the admission process will be completed by August 10.

Meanwhile, offline admissions for minority and management quota in the colleges will begin on June 27, after the students collect their mark sheets. Students who wish to avail admissions in this quota can directly apply to the junior college of their choice.
