Speeding tempo dashes four to death in Thane

Four bikers died on the spot when a speeding tempo dashed against their bike on Thane-Bhivandi Road.

According to police, the accident took place on late Sunday night at Kasheli Bridge.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Sahebali Mansuri, 28, resident of Digha near Kalwa, Diljan Alihasan Mansuri, 32, resident of Vitava near Kalwa, Shailendra Rajbhar, 30, and Ram Pradhan, both residents of Subhashnagar in Thane.

On Sunday, Shailendra and Ram were coming to Thane from Kalher on a scooter, while Mohammad and Dilshan were on the same way on a motorbike. When they were coming down from the New Kasheli bridge, a tempo speeding from the opposite direction dashed both the bike. The tempo then dashed the road railings.

Three of the bikers died on the spot while Ram Pradhan, who was seriously injured succumbed to injuries on the way to Civil hospital in Thane. Police identified the tempo driver as Kailas Yadav, who went missing after the accident.
