Chief minister Ashok Chavan said the state will announce a policy to train bureaucrats and other officials of the state government and local-self governments.

He also announced that all training institutes running under different departments would be brought under Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration (Yashada).

The academy will coordinate and monitor the training activities of these institutes.
Chavan along with governor SC Jamir, deputy chief minister Chhagan Bhujbal, guardian minister Ajit Pawar and director general of Yashada V Ramani took part in the silver jubilee celebrations of Yashada.

Chavan said it is high time to integrate training institute of different departments.

“Many training centres are working in isolation. If Yashada becomes the nodal agency for all these institutes, it will help improve the training quality,” he said.

The chief minister assured that the state government would make the funds available for Yashada to train government officials and personnel.

He also promised to allot additional land to the institute in the future.

Governor Jamir suggested that the state government must depute its best officers at the rural and tribal places.

Bhujbal stressed on the need for training programmes for the staff at Mantralaya to improve their efficiency.

“Officers of Mantralaya are never willing to clear files speedily,” said Bhujbal.
