Mumbai: The Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has come down heavily on the state and Central government for the negligence shown in disbursing compensation packages to the victims of the 7/11 serial train blasts.

Asking the government to show some humanity towards the victims and their families, the SHRC has directed for the compensation package to be paid within three months.

"It is nearly a year since the 26/11 terror attack but the state and Centre are yet to complete their rehabilitation work of the train blasts which occurred in 2006," reads the 11-page order.

It further observes that there have been no coordinated efforts by various agencies of the government, both state andCentral.

The Commission has recommended for a special rehabilitation cell to be formed to coordinate the rehabilitation work, which will be monitored by the state chief minister.

Under the Prime Minister's relief fund, as many as 79 people have not been compensated, while 194 victims are yet to be compensated under the government of India's scheme.
