Shiv Sena’s honeymoon with developmental issues seems to be over, now that the party is back on track promoting its age-old saffron agenda aggressively.

Responding to the recent robbery at the temple in Dive Agar in Raigad district, where a golden Ganesh idol was stolen by a gang of thieves, Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray has called for a ‘Ghantanaad Andolan’ (bell-tolling agitation) in all the temples across the state.

Thackeray will lead an agitating crowd on Thursday night at Dadar’s Siddhivinayak Temple.

During his visit to the temple in Dive Agar a day previously, Uddhav said, “A common man has never been in the safe zone during the regime of Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). But now, Hindu gods and goddesses are also coming under attack,” he said, announcing a Raigad bandh on Thursday.
