Mumbai: Making matters worse for rape accused Shiney Ahuja, the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Kalina, confirmed on Monday the presence of the actor's DNA in the private parts of the victim, his maid. Experts said the clinching evidence mightweaken Ahuja's chances of coming out clean.
In the report sent to Oshiwara police, the FSL reportedly said that after conducting a thorough forensic investigation into the samples provided by the cops, it was positively established that the DNA of the actor and the DNA strands on the samples collected from the victim matched.
"The DNA reports are in favour of the First Information Report (FIR)," said additional commissioner of police Amitabh Gupta. Earlier, the medical report of the victim had confirmed "forced vaginal intercourse". There were a few injury marks on her private parts. The report had also corroborated with the victim's statement.
The DNA test comprised more than 10 samples, including vaginal swabs, pubic hair, blood, urine, nails and clothes. According to a forensic expert, who spoke on condition of anonymity, the DNA test report might nail the actor. "DNA profiling is considered as an absolute proof in identification," he said.
In a DNA test, swabs taken from the victim and the accused are used to establish the DNA pattern. "In this case, the victim's body had traces of a foreign DNA, which matched with Ahuja's," the expert added.
Ahuja, who is currently in Arthur Road jail, was accused of allegedly raping his teenaged domestic help in his Oshiwara residence of June 14. He has been remanded in custody till July 2.
