The Deputy Commissioner of police (Zone 9) Pratap Dighavkar, on Monday submitted a report to his higher-ups expressing the intent to cancel the permit licence of the Juhu-based Aurus lounge bar, which on last Monday became the venue for a scuffle between actor Shah Rukh Khan and director Shirish Kunder.

It was alleged that Shah Rukh Khan slapped Kunder during a scuffle at the party hosted by Baba Dewan, the owner of Aurus, to celebrate the success of actor Sanjay Dutt’s latest flick Agneepath. Khan was reportedly upsetwith Kunder over stalking him all through the party and also posting ugly tweets about his last film Ra.One some time earlier. Kunder, however, did not approach the police with any complaint against Khan.

“We will be cancelling its (Aurus) permit licence,” said DCP Dighavkar.

The DNA in its report on February 2, had first reported that the police are seeking to cancel the lounge bar’s licence. Sources said police commissioner Arup Patnaik was miffed after the mediareported the allegedincident as taking place at 4.30am. While the time limit for all bars is 1:30am, police personnel are needed to check all the drinking joints that run on beyond the stipulated time.

Ordering an inquiry, Patnaikassigned DCP Dighavkar the task of probe, as Aurus falls under his jurisdiction. Dighavkar, found that Aurus was found to be crossing the time limit on three earlier occasions, for which it’s been learnt stern action will be taken against the personnel who allowed it.
