Sex racket busted, 3 held in Pune

Three men have been held for their involvement in a sex racket. Six women who were being forced to give sexual favors for money were rescued.

The Loni Kalbhor police on Sunday busted a sex racket by arresting three pimps from a lodge in Pune. Six women, including a model, were rescued.
 
The arrested persons have been identified as Sitaram Rishiram Pathak, 36, Shanti Laxman Giri, 20, of Kalyaninagar and Navnath Baburao Lature, 28, of Govinda Lodge in Manjri Budruk.
The main suspect, Ajay Patil, is still at large.
 
The police said that the accused had given advertisements in newspapers stating he will provide women who will give massages at home or any other place. 
 
Acting on a tip-off, the police sent two dummy customers at the Govinda Lodge. “We raided the lodge and arrested the suspects and rescued six women, aged between 21 and 24 years, all residents of Mumbai but belong to different parts of Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal,” the police said.
 
The accused were produced before judicial magistrate (first class) VB Bohra on Monday and remanded in seven-day police custody.Assistant public prosecutor Rajendra Suryawanshi said, “Their call details have to be examined as they operated through publishing cellphone numbers in newspapers.”
