The Bhoiwada police on Tuesday registered a case of sexual harassment against senior police inspector Prakash Rane attached to the Special Branch-I for allegedly harassing a woman sub inspector.
The incident took place on January 23 at unit V office of Special Branch of the Mumbai police, situated in Bhoiwada. When the 37-year-old sub inspector did not pass on an important message to Rane, the unit in-charge, he abused her in filthy and obscene language. After that, he allegedly started harassing her.
The cop then lodged a complaint of sexual harassment against Rane at the Bhoiwada police station. ACP Sunil Temkar of Bhoiwada division conducted an inquiry.
After finding Rane guilty, a case was registered against him, said senior police inspector Vikhram Patil.
