Sixty-five-year-old Arun Tikku was murdered and his half-naked body was found in the bathroom of his Oshiwara flat on Saturday night. The police suspect the involvement of his son, a small-time actor, who is absconding at present.

Tikku, a resident of Delhi, frequently visited Mumbai where he owned three attached flats — 101, 102 and 103 — on the first floor of Samarth Aangan, a 10-storey building in Lokhandwala, Andheri (West). The incident came to light after a resident of the building while parking his car heard loud noise from Tikku’s flat. He smelt something fishy and informed the police when he saw Tikku calling for help from his bedroom window.

“A police officer from the Oshiwara police station reached the building, but found Tikku’s flat locked. The police then broke open the door and found Tikku’s body in the bathroom,” a police officer told DNA.

“There were four to five stab wounds on his stomach and he was naked below the waist. We also found the wire of a computer mouse tied tightly around his neck and recovered a knife from the house.”

“As of now, we have registered a case against unknown people and are searching for two paying guests who stayed in the flat. They are absconding. We also suspect the involvement of his son Anuj in the case. However, it is not clear who killed Tikku and it would be premature to say anything about the killer,” said deputy commissioner of police, SN Chaudhary.
