The fight between Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has entered in to completely new horizon and this time the battle is to gain supremacy over the film industry.

Sena’s newly launched Bharatiya Chitrapat Sena (BCS), on Friday, issued a warning to ‘certain kids from some unions’ who are on a spree of disrupting shootings of Hindi films.

“Producers from the Hindi film industry have complained to the Shiv Sena about certain kids disrupting their shooting schedules and extorting money from them. We will not let that happen. BCS will extend complete support to these producers and if someone dares to disrupt shooting then BCS will intervene,” said Abhijit Panse, newly appointed president of BCS.

The activists of MNS in last week had disrupted the shooting of Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited (ABCL) production, Bbuddha, for casting foreign nationals, who were without work permit.

“The producer of this film approached Sena chief Bal Thackeray after the incident. As per the instruction from Bal Thackeray, we will not let such things happen in the future,” said Panse.

BCS president has also issued warning to ‘other’ associations who ask for membership cards from the Marathi actors.

“There is no necessity to have membership cards for Marathi actors in Maharashtra. If someone dares to ask for it, that organisation will be taken care of,” said Panse.

Growing activities of MNS-affiliated unions in the film industry has forced Sena to take serious actions on this front.

Sena’s dominance in this field was challenged by MNS, after a large number of Marathi stars joined MNS. With the formation of the new union and appointing Panse, who in the past has handled Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sena (BVS), as its president, Sena is trying to regain lost ground.
